It's been just over a year that I've had
Layered Technologies house my server. I thought it was about time they got some recognition for everything they do. Layered Tech have prompt support
(we're talking 5 minutes response just to let you know they got your ticket), awesome uptime and fast lines which they are currently increasing in capacity.
What's the best thing though? -- Over a year of them housing my server I've only ever had to submit minor support tickets. These tickets were mainly to do with glitches such as the line upgrades and network errors. Still, I'm on top of downtime mainly within a flash. 5 minutes is too long for me if I don't know what's happening. So until recently I subscribed to their forum where they place all the network issues and window times. Since then I've been on top of the downtime more than ever. I know exactly when my server could experience downtime and never have submitted a support ticket since. Hardly it ever does though.
I was checking my uptime the other day from a monitoring service that I forgot was monitoring me and it's been cracking on for 665 days with only 3 days and 4 hours downtime, in total. I think that's quite a big achievement considering my server was housed elsewhere for a year. Some people might not think 3 days is an achievement, but considering what my server does day-in-day-out, it is.
Anyway, it was just a rant on this fine sunny day. Layered Technologies, thank you.
