Well well, it's been a while since I posted here really. I've been quite busy and couldn't really be bothered to post anything. I'm working at my job, developing little projects on the side (when I really can be bothered) and moving to Armley on Monday! I really can't wait until I move. I was supposed to be moving in this weekend but I'm going to see my friend in Manchester who's come from Isle of Man! It's been a while since I've seen him since University. Time files!
University "lost" my withdrawal application too. I think it's their way of trying to get out of paying me back some money. Raawr! I'm on their tail now though. I have to fill out another application and send it back. This time, it's going to be personally handed in by my department leader. Better get there this time.
I'm thinking to get a digital camera. I've never had one before, but it needs to be sleek and stylish to fit into my lifestyle. Oh, and it needs to be a good megapixel. Any ideas?
I was looking for a new computer on Dell's website trying to get a good desktop. I came across a higher specification machine for MUCH less at Dell's small-business side; and lucky me, I know a few VAT registered people. I'm still in the pickle of having a laptop. I have one now, but I want a desktop because I want that high specification machine for that dirty price. I like to sit on my bed with the laptop too, whereas a desktop, you can't. Then I want a multi screen desktop. I'm yet again in another pickle. I don't want to sacrifice anything for what I want. It's hard being me. :(
Project side, my really-high-mysql-usage-server is almost complete. It's done 220 million queries after a few days online already. It's working, hehe. It could be a good little money earner should I not need to splash out on MySQL clustering much. However, if you know me, you know my projects never get finished. I could be a millionaire by now. I just never finish my projects. I've got dating websites, file storage, porn websites, you name it -- I've made one when I see a good trend. Shame I never get round to finishing them. I prefer my party lifestyle than making millions.. heh.

Well it's been a while since I posted anything. I thought I better tell you all what's going on in the world of Steve!
In the past few months, I've been on-and-off deciding if I would like to stay at University and continue my studies in
Internet Computing. I decided not to continue at one point; got my mom and dad down to help pack my entire belongings and take them home. Then, a week later at home I decided I'm going back down and took only a few survival items. A month later and a good long hard think, I finally decided that I would not continue my studies. When that happened, I started applying for web developer jobs in and around Derby as well as back at home. I put my CV online for people to head hunt myself.
About another week later, I got an e-mail from a company called
Icelolly asking if I would like to apply for their web developer job that was being offered mid may. I took up on the offer. I e-mailed him back, we arranged a date and time and my interview was set. I quickly did a mock-up design of Icelolly's after search page and put it i my portfolio to show them on the interview. The day came, I grabbed my portfolio and record of achievement and got myself down to their head quarters in Wyke.
I got myself into the building and was interviewed straight away. After I sold myself and my skills they said I would hear back from them on Monday
(at the time it was a Friday). I got back home where my mom came home from work and said
"Did you get there at 11:30am?" -- I was baffled and said
"it was for... oh shit!". Yup, I arrived 20 minutes late to my interview! I quickly e-mailed Icelolly to apologise and they promptly replied that they weren't keeping track of the time. Lucky escape, eh?
I had the long wait but didn't think about it much as I was helping my parents clean up their house to sell. Finally Monday came. I had a few early things to do. Dentist, chores around the house, etc. No phone call. So, I get to my computer, open up my e-mail client and in pops a new email from Icelolly. They offered me the position and I accepted!
Now I start on the 29th May and I'm down in Derby just chilling before my big first day! The only problem right now is that I'm full of cold, have a fever and need constant paracetamol. Could life get any better?

Got back home on Sunday. I've decided to ditch University for another three years and get a full-time job in web development. I'm really excited. I had my first interview today in Manchester for a company called
Unicom who wants me to manage their internal and external Internet presence
(well, not me personally, just the job description). They obviously use Microsoft technology in their offices and use Visual Studio and ASP.NET for the website development. At least 300 employees were in this one building. Seems quite a big established business. My only downfall is that I'll be travelling to Manchester for about three months in my car every day
(about 50 miles there, 50 miles back) there and back. This is ofcourse until I find a flat closer to the company.
Northing's set in stone though. I'm still looking for more jobs being advertised and sending my CV off everywhere I can, then awaiting replies or enquires. I'm trying to find one closer to home which is what my parents want me to do.
I'm not exactly sure if this was the right thing to do. But life's all about taking risks. I'll get nowhere pondering the thought. I hope I made the right choice.
When I left my halls, a few of my halls mates helped us out.
Love you guys! Missing you so much already!

Are there any stress relief medication around? -- Stress balls don't work.
It's at the time where everything is going fast and I can't keep up. I don't realise I'm stressing until a massive headache starts to develop and there's literally nothing I can do to stop it. That's right, medication in the form of paracetamol's.. don't work.
I'm on my way to find a full time job in web development and trying to find a suitable flat. I have a few ideas and blockages first. I need to get my University work handed in, then I can withdraw; but I can on withdraw once I've found a job and a flat. Now, I can't find a job unless I need to move, therefore it's stupid to try and get a flat in Derby. I'm positive I'm not staying.
I have another solution and that's to get a shelf-stacking job in say ASDA and then try find my perfect job while earning and saving my cash.
I'm in a bit of a pickle at the moment, ain't I?

I've planned a whole new layout for neoboffins.com which will be awesome. I'll be including new buttons to submit my articles to those news websites, adding tags, related articles and so much more.
Of course it's still in production like everything but I'm not sure when I will update it. Right now, University work is controlling everything. I have a 20 minute presentation to give tomorrow (but it depends if I get picked to present) and I'm just going to wing it.
After that, I've got an entire e-commerce website to build from scratch with drag and drop functions for the cart which should be awesome depending if I finish it on time. Then, a few redesigns to upload and present and much more!
I need a personal assistant.

Raving over
Google's RSS Reader last night, I started to add all sorts of feeds to it. It's actually quite a good reader. You quickly add the RSS URL and it adds it to the left hand side and reads it. All you need to do next is start reading the results! When you read them and start scrolling through the long list of RSS items, it automatically tags the items as 'read', which of course is another bonus. No need for clicks or full read views, just scroll and if the abstract doesn't grab your attention, it's already marked as read!
I think I'll be using this reader for a while. There's more features which I'm not going to rave about but the one thing I love about it is the fact that it updates the browser title when new feed items have been read by the reader. That's the only thing I really want out of any RSS reader. The rest is a bonus.

Oh my, oh my! I have a few new projects to do and they're wack!
Let me start by saying my new project, called
WILT is in development but might not yet be released.. ever. My second project might be to create one of those
'rip from youtube' things since the search engine results are giving me hits. Remember, I try to give you exactly what you want!
Help is needed though!
I went into University just before the weekend to complete a few skills tests to go into my portfolio. The SEA
(Student Employment Agency) employee told me I was really good. Getting 96% accuracy equalling to 2 errors. I did a few other tests as well, but they're not that important. Anywho! Today I received a call from her asking me if I would like to work at the University being a data input clerk. I jumped at the chance
(and mainly because its £6 an hour)! Now on the only days I've got off which are Wednesday and Friday, I'm working. Yay!
It call pays for my living; that's how I see it!
In one of my Modules,
Communication & Web Design Skills we get to work in a team and build a real web site for one of four clients. They include a: running club, floristry maker, turbine creator and jewellery makers. I've been to all the briefings of each client and I'm impressed with how they actually delivered a presentation. I have millions of ideas running around in my head. I can't wait to put some into action!
